Embarrassing Things From My Past

Steve coaxed me into uploading these old videos to the youtubes. This stuff is from six years ago, something that forces me to accept the fact that I am getting older.

The first one is Extreme Footing, something that is still actually moderately amusing to me. For whatever reason in high school I had a severe hatred for skate videos, I guess this was kind of my reaction to it. TAKE THAT SKATER KIDS! I sure showed them.

After uploading this, I found that there are many videos with the title “Extreme Footing” on youtube. Based on my extensive research of watching a few seconds of about three of those videos, I am proud to say that mine is the best, and the funniest.

Next up is Confessions of a Dangerous Dancer. This one is much less funny and as a result much more embarrassing to watch. On the plus side, Steve pointed out to me that I made a mockumentary (about people who take DDR much too seriously) well before I had any idea what a mockumentary even was. Makes me feel slightly less stupid for this atrocity. Enjoy!

Let’s never speak of this again.

The whole autotune fad has a few hits and a lot of misses, but I can’t stop watching this. It’s hypnotic.

Architecture. You know what’s even more awesome? Blowing it up. Legos wouldn’t be as fun if you didn’t get to destroy your creation afterwards, and I daresay that SimCity wouldn’t have been as popular if it didn’t include the option to have Godzilla ravage your perfect metropolis after you get bored of it.

You should definitely check out the link above, but here’s a pretty good montage of demolitions to whet your appetite. Could have used better music, and some of the editing is dumb, but there’s some great footage here.

This one just went down in Houston a few years ago. How did I not hear about this? Is there a mailing list I can sign up for to be notified of future local demolitions? I feel like I missed out.

Adding to my recent horrible string of bad luck, my car broke down today. So now my automobile is in some shop way across town while I continue staying at a friend’s place. Will it be fixed in time for school next week? What tomfoolery will Adam get into next? It’s starting to feel like I’m on a bad episode of Mr. Bean. Maybe I should go ahead and get my head stuck in a turkey and be done with it.

Oh well, I’ll just watch this over and over until I feel better.

History Nerds in Austin

It took nine years, but it looks like Spike Jonze’s adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are will see the light of day this year in October, two days after my birthday. It’s hard to describe how much I’m looking forward to this movie. I might explode when I see it in the theater.
