San Diego Zoo: Vernay’s Ratel

misc, videos — Adam @ 11:26 pm on August 5, 2008

While at said zoo this one skunk looking thing called a "Vernay’s Ratel" kept running back and forth in its cage, almost like it was showing off or working out or something. We watched it for quite some time for some reason, I guess it was somewhat hypnotic. I took a video. Watching it is a kind of torture.

  1. I’m gonna call PETA to rescue the poor thing, or at least give it some Valium. Or an old Russian novel.

  2. Some travelling magician guy put on a show in the Texas City area a while back and brought some tigers with him. In a mall. These things were pacing in these cages that were maybe 7 feet longer than they were, and the kids and their parents were just going ga-ga over the damn things. I’m no animal rights activist, but it did make me pissed.

A fucking mall, for crying out loud.

  4. That honey badger isn’t abused, just thinking really hard. I pace in that manner too.
